1. What is ISGweb?
ISGweb for iMIS is a Web Services-based solution. It’s a suite of standardized web modules that offer real-time iMIS integration for an association’s core web processes. ISGweb contains a comprehensive set of data-driven forms that are embedded in the association’s main website. These modules provide additional functionality that enhance and expand the capabilities of iMIS without custom programming.
2. What’s your relationship with ASI?
ISG Solutions is one of the oldest and largest Authorized iMIS Solution Providers (AiSP) in the world. We have more than 20 years of experience with iMIS and are deeply committed to supporting iMIS clients.
- ISGweb protects your iMIS investment since it allows you to get more functionality out of your iMIS database.
- Since you still need to buy the iMIS SOA Web Services, ISGweb does not cut into ASI’s revenues. What ISGweb replaces is the implementation and customization costs to effectively implement the SOA Web Services in a website.
3. Did ASI give ISG permission to develop ISGweb?
ASI encourages its Authorized iMIS Solution Providers (AiSPs) to develop innovative solutions that extend iMIS and take advantage of an open and extensible architecture. ISG completed ASI’s certification program to receive authorization to build SOA Web Services-based solutions like ISGweb.
4. What are the differences between ISGweb and other solutions?
ISGweb has unparalleled functionality based on years of hands-on consulting experience and listening to our association clients. It also came about from building custom low-risk, high ROI solutions to meet their needs.
Because ISGweb is a packaged product, the implementation is more secure and the timeline predictable. ISGweb is sold at a fixed price with the cost of software and implementation included, so there are no surprises. Since ISGweb’s functionality is clearly defined, you won’t need a preliminary design and analysis to determine the scope of the project. And the ISGweb suite of modules costs less than custom-designed Web pages.
ISGweb separates the presentation layer from the business logic. Because of this, you won’t need to revise custom Web pages when it’s time to upgrade. By enhancing the investment you’ve already made in your website, ISGweb increases user Web activity, customer satisfaction, and staff efficiencies. It’ll be maintainable for years to come.
Furthermore, ISGweb uses the .NET Web services and the C# language. That means there are no add-on costs for Cold Fusion servers and licensing.
5. Does ISGweb replace Public Views or e-Series?
Yes. You don’t need Public Views or e-Series to run ISGweb. The functionality of ISGweb covers all of Public Views or e-Series except for e-Content Management.
To integrate ISGweb with iMIS, your association must have licenses for ASI’s SOA Web Services. If you already own Public Views or e-Series, ASI automatically grants you licenses to the SOA Web Services that correspond to each of the Public Views or e-Series modules. Thus, no other purchase is required.
If you don’t have Public Views or e-Series licenses, you must purchase SOA Web Services licenses from ASI or your reseller before running ISGweb.
6. How long does it take to implement ISGweb?
It takes between 90 and 120 days to implement ISGweb.
7. Do you need to come to my office to implement ISGweb?
No.
8. Does ISG have a live demo site we can view?
No. ISGweb doesn’t have its own web infrastructure. It has been designed to work within our clients’ home sites. Several of our clients have volunteered their live websites for you to browse. Just ask and we’ll be happy to give you the information to view those sites.
9. What is included in ISGweb pricing?
ISGweb is sold at a fixed price that includes the software and all implementation costs.
10. Is the ISGweb pricing based on my iMIS license?
No.
11. If we don’t need all the modules included with ISGweb, can we get a discount?
Associations that don’t need all of the modules can purchase just the core modules plus the specific additional modules that are needed.
12. What is the annual maintenance fee for ISGweb?
The first year of maintenance is included in the purchase price. After that, the fee is 20 percent of the current list price of the software.
13. When is my first maintenance payment due?
It would be due one year from the date you purchased ISGweb.
14. What if I already have Public Views or e-Series? Can I get a discount?
No. You need ASI’s SOA Web Services. ISGweb uses the ASI-authorized iMIS business logic integration to protect the integrity of your iMIS system.
15. Do we have to continue to pay the ASI maintenance fee for the Public Views or e-Series modules?
Yes. The maintenance fee for the Public Views or e-Series modules also covers upgrades for the SOA Web Services. This is essential for ISGweb to keep its integration layer up to date with changes in iMIS and to take advantage of new features in iMIS.
16. What are the software requirements for ISGweb?
- iMIS 20 or higher for Microsoft SQL Server.
- A dedicated .NET server.
- The appropriate SOA Web Services.
- VeriSign’s PayFlow Pro for online credit card authorization.
17. What is ISGweb written in?
ISGweb uses the new .NET Web services and the C# language.
18. Does the .NET release of iMIS replace ISGweb?
No. ISGweb is compatible with the .NET release of iMIS.
19. How does ISGweb work with my existing website?
ISGweb uses your website infrastructure instead of its own. You use your own graphical template, security, and navigation to insert ISGweb’s iMIS-integrated forms directly into your website — wherever you need them.
20. Does ISGweb replace the navigation and architecture of our website?
ISGweb does not replace the navigation or architecture of your website. ISGweb uses your existing website infrastructure instead of imposing its own. You use your own graphical template, security and navigation to insert ISGweb’s iMIS-integrated forms directly into your website, wherever you need them.
21. I maintain several websites connected to my association’s main website. Can ISGweb be implemented across multiple websites?
Yes.
22.When will we get the software to start integrating it with our site?
The implementation of ISGweb consists of several distinct phases:
-
After the kickoff meeting, ISG conducts an initial consultation phase in which we go through all of the ISGweb processes with your decision-making representatives and gather information on your preferences, iMIS configurations and business rules. During these meetings, we will also identify areas where you need to make decisions about how you want to incorporate ISGweb in your site.
-
We document these requirements in two ways: in summarized form for purposes of getting your confirmation, and in a technical specification for our implementation staff to use in configuring ISGweb. We will require sign-off from you before proceeding to act on these specifications.
-
ISG uses those technical specifications to adjust the ISGweb configuration settings, security group criteria, and develop the custom scripts needed to implement those unique requirements. During this technical development period we will be working offsite, but we will conduct periodic status meetings for follow-up questions and clarifications.
-
At the same time that ISG is working on the configuration of ISGweb, your webmaster and colleagues will be making decisions about where to place the ISGweb links, modifying your website structure to flow as you desire, and adding data to iMIS as needed to power online functionality. ISG will meet with you during this phase to provide you with training needed to implement ISGweb in your own site, including a list of the URL links you can use.
-
ISG will present a prototype of the fully configured ISGweb implementation about one month before go-live, and you will have to make a copy of your site and move it to a testing server, where ISGweb will also be installed. We will also map ISGweb to integrate with a test copy of youriMIS database. At this point in the process, you will have a live copy of the full application, and you may proceed with user acceptance testing. If you change your mind about the way ISGweb works with your site during this testing phase, you may easily move the links and navigation.
-
The final phase includes the marketing roll-out to your users and post-launch support from ISG. The actual go-live process takes less than a day, and involves a cut-over from the test server to the production server, for the website and also for the iMIS integration.
